KATHMANDU, July 24: BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences has set up a separate dengue ward with 30 beds into operation to treat dengue patients from Sunday.
Prahlad Karki, Permanent Vice-Chancellor of the Institute said that a separate dengue bed was put into operation after the "Central Emergency" and "Dengue Clinic" of the institute could not handle it. He said that the 100-bed capacity Covid-19 hospital has been converted into a dengue hospital for the time being.
He stated that since the last two days, 85 percent of the beds in the 50-bed 'observation ward' of the institution were filled with dengue patients, and a separate dengue hospital was put into operation. For the past few days, 60 to 75 people infected with dengue have been visiting the emergency wards of the institute every day.
