Three major parties agree to remove statements related to Jalhari from the "record" of Parliament

KATHMANDU, May 27: The three major parties have reached a consensus that the government will provide an explanation to the House regarding the gold reserve at Pashupatinath temple.



In a meeting held on Saturday at the Prime Minister's Office in Singha Durbar, the top leaders of the three parties agreed that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal would address the Parliament to clarify the matter concerning the gold fountain located in Pashupatinath temple.

Following the meeting, CPN-UML's chief whip, Padam Giri, informed Republica that it was agreed to remove the statements made in Parliament regarding the Jalhari (gold fountain) from the official parliamentary record.


The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dahal, President of Nepali Congress and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of the main opposition party CPN-UML and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Chief Whip of CPN (Maoist Center) Hitraj Pandey, Chief Whip of Nepali Congress Ramesh Lekhak, and CPN-UML's chief whip, Padam Giri.
