KATHMANDU, July 19: Authorities have seized a substantial amount of gold at Tribhuvan International Airport during special raid conducted by Revenue Investigation Department on Wednesday.
The precise quantity of the seized gold has not been confirmed yet, as the operation is still underway. However, preliminary estimates suggest that the amount exceeds 50 kg, according to senior police officials.

The seizure of such a large amount of gold was made based on specific information that the gold was concealed within the brake shoe of a scooter. Acting on this tip-off, a dedicated team from the Revenue Investigation Department conducted a targeted raid, resulting in the successful seizure of the valuable contraband.
