KATHMANDU, June 5: The government has decided to celebrate National Education Day on June 17.



The Ministry of Education has decided to celebrate the National Education Day every year on June 17 based on the date of verification of the Act Relating to Compulsory and Free Education Act, 2018 (2075 BS).

Accordingly, the Education Ministry has written letters to the Province and District Co-ordination Committee, Municipal Association of Nepal, and all local levels to celebrate the National Education Day on June 17 every year.


National Education Day has been celebrated since 1974 on February 24 each year. The National Education Day, which was celebrated on different dates until 2020, has not been celebrated since 2021.
