Nepal: 522 new cases, 587 recoveries, seven fatalities and 4,551 PCR tests in past 24 hours

Of the 522 new cases recorded in the past 24 hours, 232 are from the Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU, Jan 5: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) recorded 522 new cases of COVID-19 across the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the total cases detected, 232 were recorded from the Kathmandu Valley.

Meanwhile, the number of people dying of COVID-19 in Nepal has reached 1,893 with seven more people dying of the disease on Tuesday.

According to the health ministry, 587 COVID-19 patients recovered in the past one day, taking the nation's COVID-19 recovery tally to 255,666.

The country has tested 1,957,454 people for the COVID-19  so far.
