UML's Thagunna elected from Darchula

According to the count announced this morning, Thagunna won with 18,899 votes, according to the Office of the Chief Returning Officer. His closest competitor was Nepali Congress candidate Dharmananda Joshi, who received 15,836 votes.

DARCHULA, March 8: CPN-UML candidate Ganesh Singh Thagunna has been elected a member of the House of Representatives in Darchula. 


According to the count announced this morning, Thagunna won with 18,899 votes, according to the Office of the Chief Returning Officer. His closest competitor was Nepali Congress candidate Dharmananda Joshi, who received 15,836 votes.

Similarly, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Rajesh Singh Samanta received 8,936 votes, while Nepali Communist Party candidate Laxman Joshi received 3,065 votes.


According to Chief Returning Officer Bhuwan Giri, 43,860 votes were cast out of a total of 92,948 voters in the district.
