10,000 people acquire passports in seven months

KATHMANDU, Feb 13: As many as 10,000 people have acquired passports from Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Susta West) during the seven months of the current fiscal year 2022/23. According to the District Administration Office, around 10,000 people have taken passports till mid-February of the current year.

KATHMANDU, Feb 13: As many as 10,000 people have acquired passports from Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Susta West) during the seven months of the current fiscal year 2022/23. According to the District Administration Office, around 10,000 people have taken passports till mid-February of the current year.



According to the data released by the Safer Migration Project (SaMi) under Ramgram Municipality, some 56 percent households receive remittances through foreign employment and about 40 million people are outside the country for foreign employment.

According to the project, social and foreign problems are increasing in society due to foreign employment.


The project has concluded that in the past, women had to stay depressed after returning from foreign employment, but now with the change in people's perception, it has become easier for women to live as a member of society.
