KATHMANDU, Dec 1: A total of 10 benches have been assigned using an automation system at the Supreme Court on Wednesday.



The Supreme Court has put the automation system for assigning hearings into implementation starting today. For the first time in the history of modern courts in Nepal, the hearings have been assigned by the Supreme Court using a lottery system.

On the first day, 10 benches including two single benches have been fixed. Justices Meera Khadka and Kumar Chudal have been assigned single benches.


Meanwhile, a joint bench of Justices Harikrishna Karki and Sushmalata Mathema has been fixed.


Similarly, a joint bench of Justice Harikrishna Karki and Justice Bamkumar Shrestha has been assigned and a joint bench of Justices Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha and Bamkumar Shrestha has been assigned.


The Supreme Court justices have returned to hearing cases after 37 days after the confirmation of the implementation of the lottery system at the court.
