14th Central President Running Shield sports competition to begin from today

KATHMANDU, April 16: The National Sports Council has assigned six of its board members to oversee the 14th Central President Running Shield sports competition, which commences on Tuesday.



Member-Secretary Tankalal Ghising has delegated the responsibility of monitoring and reporting on six different games included in the competition. The specific assignments are as follows: Anjan Dhamala for Taekwondo, Anjana Shrestha for karate, Nanda Basyal for volleyball, Bina Shrestha for athletics, Pema Dolma Lama for kabaddi, and Prakash Kumar Kusari for wushu.

President Ram Chandra Poudel is slated to inaugurate the event. The opening ceremony will feature a march past, dance performances, a presentation by wushu players, and a dance reflecting the culture of Nepal’s seven provinces.


The Central President Running Shield will select representatives from all 735 local levels, with 686 players from all seven provinces competing in the tournament.
