MOHOTTARI, Dec 14: A total of 180 candidates to the House of Representatives and Province Assembly forfeited their deposits in Mahottari district.

Election Officer, Pinky Raya, said that out of 213 candidates, 180 candidates forfeited their deposits. There is a legal provision that a candidate should secure 10 per cent votes out of total valid votes. Otherwise, the candidate unable to get 10 per cent votes of the total valid votes would forfeit his/her deposit.
Thirty-six independent candidates and the remaining from different parties forfeited their deposits in the district. RSS
