UDAYAPUR, August 16: Two passengers died on the spot while another was injured in a tipper accident on the Siddhicharan Highway Tuesday morning.
Nar Bahadur Magar, 45, and Mirching Kancha Magar, 40, of Katari-8 Pakhatol died in a tipper truck accident that occured at 10 AM on Tuesday in Katari Municipality-8 Kuri Bhanjang when the ill-fated tipper truck with the registration number Ba 4 Kha 5671 met with the accident on its way to Ghurmi from Katari Bazar.
Two killed, five injured in Morang road accident
According to police, the tipper truck carrying cement fell 50 meters off the road while paving the way for another vehicle coming from the opposite direction. Another passenger, 40-year-old Chandra Bahadur Magar of Katari 8, was seriously injured in the accident.
The injured Magar is being treated at Katari Hospital and preparations are underway to send him to a well-equipped hospital for further treatment. The tipper driver, whose name and address have not been disclosed, is absconding after the incident, according to the District Police Office, Udayapur.
District Police Chief SP Gyanendra Phuyal said a detailed investigation into the accident is underway.
