28 pickpockets arrested during Bibaha Panchami in Janakpurdham

JANAKPURDHAM, Dec 18: The police have arrested 28 people for pickpocketing during the celebrations of the marriage between Ram and Janaki.

JANAKPURDHAM, Dec 18: The police have arrested 28 people for pickpocketing during the celebrations of the marriage between Ram and Janaki.



They were arrested by the police on charges of pickpocketing and misbehaving with devotees in the crowd, Dhanusha police spokesperson DSP Ranjan Awa stated.

A large number of police were mobilized to prevent a repeat of the criminal activities that took place during the Bibaha Panchami festival in previous years.


They were arrested till Sunday night and kept at Gopal Dharamshala in Janakpurdham. According to the District Police Office, Dhanusha, necessary investigations are being carried out.
