28 women and girls fall victim to domestic violence during 16 days of violence against women campaign

KATHMANDU, Dec 12: While the country is running a 16-day campaign against gender-based violence, with the slogan, "Let's start at home to end violence against women", 28 women and girls have fallen victim of domestic violence.

KATHMANDU, Dec 12: While the country is running a 16-day campaign against gender-based violence, with the slogan, "Let's start at home to end violence against women", 28 women and girls have fallen victim of domestic violence.



According to the Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) Online, 28 women and girls have been victimized in six provinces except Far West in the 16 days of the campaign.

According to a report released by INSEC on December 12, there are seven victims in Bagmati, six in Karnali, five each in Lumbini and Province 2, three in Province 1 and two in Gandaki. The report states that 18 girls and 10 women were victims of domestic violence during the 16-day period.
