3 held for swindling Facebook friends thru fake accounts

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Police have arrested three people on the charge of swindling people by creating fake Facebook accounts impersonating as Britishers.



The arrested are Pawan Neupane, originally from Urlabari Morang, currently staying at Budhanilkantha, Santosh Basnet of Bhojpur Hatuwaghadi Rural Municipality-7, currently staying at Baluwakhani and Pradip Subba of Morang Sundar Haraincha-6.

According to police, the arrested trio had swindled their Facebook friends of around Rs 10 million on various pretexts.   


On October 29, Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) had arrested them from Kankadvitta. Police are preparing to file a case on the charge of fraud.
