35 motorcycles handed over to State police

POKHARA, July 18: The Gandaki State government has presented 35 motorcycles worth Rs. 7 million to the State police office. Chief Minister Prithivi Subba Gurung handed over the keys to Chief of State Police Binod Sharma Ghimire at a function held here on Wednesday.

POKHARA, July 18: The Gandaki State government has presented 35 motorcycles worth Rs. 7 million to the State police office. Chief Minister Prithivi Subba Gurung handed over the keys to Chief of State Police Binod Sharma Ghimire at a function held here on Wednesday.



On the occasion, Chief Minister Gurung said the government will continue such support to strengthen security in the State. He, however, lamented that the police service was still under the federal government, though the constitution provides that it should be under the State.

Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Hari Bahadur Chuman said despite limited resources the police have been playing an important role in providing security to the people.


State Police Chief Sharma said the support received would contribute to the effectiveness of the security measures in the State.
