42 APF personnel test positive for COVID-19 in Chitwan

CHITWAN, Aug 19: At least 42 Armed Police Force (APF) personnel have been found infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Chitwan.

CHITWAN, Aug 19: At least 42 Armed Police Force (APF) personnel have been found infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Chitwan.



The APF personnel working at Number 3 Gadhimai Brigade Bagmati State based in Rapti Municipality, Bhandara, have been diagnosed with COVID-19 infection. Of them, two are females and 40 are males.

APF Deputy Inspector General Sandeep Shrestha said that 42 out of 60 APF personnel tested positive for the virus during PCR tests conducted at COVID-19 lab in Bharatpur. Initially, eight APF cops had tested positive for the virus.


The APF brigade has 300 APF personnel. Those cops who are diagnosed with coronavirus will be undergoing treatment in isolation wards set up on the APF brigade premises, according to Shrestha.
