6 Baidhya-led CPN(Revolutionary Maoist) cadres file candidacy in Khotang

KHOTANG, June 19: As many as six persons belonging to Baidhya-led CPN (Revolutionary Maoist) registered their independent candidacies in Khotang district on Sunday.

KHOTANG, June 19: As many as six persons belonging to Baidhya-led CPN (Revolutionary Maoist) registered their independent candidacies in Khotang district on Sunday.



Jham Prasad Acharya filed his candidacy for the mayor of Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality.Acharya is a member of state committee of CPN(Revoutuionary Maoist).

“Our party has not participated in the election. Our party is opposed to the local level elections. Therefore, we are contesting the election not on behalf of our party. We are contesting the local polls on behalf of Deshbhakta Janaganatantrik Morcha(DJM)”,  said Acharya.


Deshbhakta Janaganatantrik Morcha(DJM) is the sister organization of Baidhya-led CPN(Revoutuionary Maoist).


Likewise, Rajesh Basnet registered his candidacy for the mayor of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality while Tirga Rai filed his candidacy for the chairperson of Ditpung Rural Municipality.


Similarly, Ramesh Adhikari filed his candidacy for the deputy mayor of Lamidanda Municipaluty whereas Tham Bahadur Rai and Bhojraj Basnet registered their candidacries for chairperson and member of Ward -7 of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality.
