KATHMANDU, Sept 17: A case related to the smuggling of 60 kg of gold seized by the Department of Revenue Investigation on July 18 will be filed at the Kathmandu District Court on Sunday (today).

Four days after the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police submitted the probe report of the case, the District Government Attorney Office will register the case today.

The CIB has recommended to the District Government Attorney Office to file a case against 29 individuals, including 25 who have been arrested and 4 who are still at large. However, it is likely that the District Government Attorney may reduce this number before filing the case.

In total, 32 people, including eight Chinese nationals, are involved in the case, and the CIB itself has recommended not prosecuting seven of them.
