He said that 71,000 metric tons of chemical fertilizers are available at various depots in the country. He also said that 45,000 metric tons of DAP fertilizer will be brought from India’s Kolkata within this month. PM Dahal said that this year there will be no fertilizer shortage like in the past during the rice planting season.

He said, “I would like to inform you that the supply system of chemical fertilizers is stronger than that in the previous years. From mid-July last year till now, 351,000 metric tons of chemical fertilizers have been imported. Of that, 71,000 metric tons of fertilizers are available at various sales depots. Arrangements have been made for 45,000 metric tons of DAP to enter Nepal from Kolkata in India within this month. This time there is no fertilizer shortage like in the past during the paddy planting season. Initially, Rs 15 billion was allocated for chemical fertilizers, but the fertilizer supply system has been strengthened by securing an additional resource of Rs 23 billion. This proves the fact that the government is responsible for providing chemical fertilizers to the farmers. The federal ministry has been made responsible for the import of fertilizer, while the provincial and local governments have been mobilized for distribution. I would also like to inform you that the digital system has been introduced in fertilizer supply and distribution to make the fertilizer distribution system transparent.”
