KATHMANDU, August 30: A total 76 parties have filed applications to participate in the upcoming House of Representatives and Province Assembly member elections in the proportional representation category.
Applications from 76 different parties have been received at the office of the Election Officer, including 55 from 63 different parties in Province 1, 59 from 67 parties in Madhesh Province, and 58 petitions from 66 parties in Bagmati Province, according to Assistant Spokesperson at the EC Surya Prasad Aryal.

Likewise, 52 applications from 60 parties were received in Gandaki Province, 54 from 62 parties in Lumbini, 49 from 57 parties in Karnali Province and 58 applications from 50 parties in Sudurpaschim Province have been registered to contest in the upcoming November 20 elections.
