OKHALDHUNGA, May 30: Former Prime Minister as well as Chairperson of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that only agreement and understanding can lead the country toward prosperity.
NCP chair made such remarks while addressing a program organized to lay the foundation stone for the statue of martyr Yagya Thapa in Chisankhugadhi Rural Municipality of Okhaldhunga on Wednesday. The program was organized on the occasion of the Republic Day.

According to him, the concept of 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali' announced by the government is not just an aspiration of a particular party but of the whole nation. He stressed on the need for all citizens to join hands for making this happen. He also expressed his happiness toward the participation of all parties during the foundation laying program.
"The active participation, cooperation and understanding shown by the members of Nepali Congress (NC) and NCP has made me proud," said Chairperson Dahal, adding, "You all are showing good political culture. It has helped convey a message that martyrs do not belong to any political party, they belong to the nation."
He urged all the leaders and politicians across the country to follow this practice. According to him, such understanding and agreement will play a pivotal role for the development of the nation. During the program, Chairperson Dahal assured to make efforts for blacktopping the main road of Chisankhugadhi Rural Municipality.
He also promised to hold discussions in the provincial and central parliament to name that road after martyr Yagya Bahadur Thapa. He did not stop there, and went on to assure the locals that he will also do something to solve the drinking water problem of the local unit.
He further added that he will make efforts to provide Rs 1 million relief to the family members of Thapa. The rural municipality allocated budget for the construction of the statue of Martyr Thapa.
