AI Nepal marks Word Press Freedom Day

KATHMANDU, May 4: Amnesty International Nepal marked the World Press Freedom Day 2018 on Thursday voicing support to journalists and media-persons as human rights defenders.

KATHMANDU, May 4: Amnesty International Nepal marked the World Press Freedom Day 2018 on Thursday voicing support to journalists and media-persons as human rights defenders. The gathering of activists and Amnesty International Nepal's supporters at Shanti Batika, Ratnapark, Kathmandu at 9 am was joined by leading human rights activists Charan Kumar Prasai and Subodh Pyakurel, according to the statement issued by the Amnesty International Nepal. Journalists of various media organizations were also present at the event. Amnesty International Nepal's Chairperson Rajan Prasad Kuikel addressing the gathering expressed solidarity with journalists who brave difficult situations while defending public interest and rights of the people.
