Baitadi, September 15: Air service in Baitadi, a hilly district of Sudurpaschim Province, remains closed for a long time.
The Dhangadhi-Baitadi-Dhangadhi weekly flight has been closed for the past six months. Summit Air had been flying one day a week on Thursday, and the last flight was conducted on March 24.

Due to the lack of flights, the citizens who are going to take sick people or are going for other work are facing problems. Citizens who have to go to Dhangadhi urgently are in trouble due to lack of flights. It takes at least eight hours to reach Dhangadi by public transport.
Contact Person of Summit Air, Patan, Krishnadatta Bhatt said that the air service was stopped due to the lack of passengers and unfavorable weather and it will resume from the first week of October. Before March, there were regular flights, but after that, the flights were not able to take place due to lack of passengers and unfavorable weather conditions.
Bhatt says that since March, Summit Air has been conducting more flights to tourist areas where there are more passengers. He said, "For two to three months from April, Lukla and Jomsom were full due to the increase in tourists, then there was the issue of taking flights there, sometimes the weather is unfavorable while sometimes there is a problem of not getting enough passengers."
