Airlines forced to cancel flights to four main Terai airports including Bhairahawa due to heavy fog

KATHMANDU, Dec 30: Adverse weather conditions caused by heavy fog have led to disruptions in flights at four Terai airports, including Bhairahawa.

KATHMANDU, Dec 30: Adverse weather conditions caused by heavy fog have led to disruptions in flights at four Terai airports, including Bhairahawa.



The Tribhuvan International Airport office stated that air travel in the Terai region has been significantly impacted due to low visibility.

Spokesperson Subas Jha stated that thick fog has resulted in flight disruptions at Simra, Janakpur, Bharatpur, and Bhairahawa airports in the Terai region. No flights operated at these airports, with Bhairahawa airport experiencing a complete halt in domestic flights.


Due to bad weather on Friday, most of the airlines cancelled scheduled flights to these airports. Domestic flights are affected due to heavy fog at airports of Terai region especially during winter.
