Anil makes comeback to national team

KATHMANDU, June 12: Former national football team captain Anil Gurung has made a comeback in the team with head coach Gyotoku Koji making six changes to the side that traveled to India on June 6 for a friendly match.

KATHMANDU, June 12: Former national football team captain Anil Gurung has made a comeback in the team with head coach Gyotoku Koji making six changes to the side that traveled to India on June 6 for a friendly match. 



Koji had called up 20 players for India friendly but now has expanded it to 23 after excluding three players and adding six more players.  



Beside Anil, Koji has called up goalkeeper Alan Neupane, defenders Man Bahadur Tamang, Dinesh Rajbanshi, midfielders Sunil Bal and Rajendra Rawal. 



Meanwhile, goalkeeper Bishal Shrestha, defender Bimal Basnet and forward Suman Lama who had travelled to India have been excluded from the national team. 



Fullback Bimal who was included in the national team after injuries to Rabin Shrestha and Rajin Dhimal,had made his national team debut against India coming as a second-half substitute. 



Full squad:

Goalkeepers: Bikesh Kuthu, Kiran Kumar Limbu, Alan Neupane 

Defenders: Biraj Maharjan, Ananta Tamang, Aditya Chaudhary, Kamal Shrestha, Devendra Tamang, Jitendra Karki, Dinesh Rajbanshi, Man Bahadur Tamang 

Midfielders: Sujal Shrestha, Bishal Rai, Rohit Chand, Anjan Bista, Hemanta Thapa Magar, Rajendra Rawal, Heman Gurung, Sunil Bal

Forwards: Nawayug Shrestha, Bharat Khawas, Anil Gurung, Bimal Gharti Magar
