Earlier, students who have received 'non-grade' in three or more subjects were told to take the exam for the entire subject this year, even if the examination form for six subjects is filled. However, after the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology revised the Letter Grading Guideline, 2078, now the students can give exams of only non-graded subjects.

According to the letter grading system implemented by the board, the students who got ungraded in more than two subjects had to take the exam of the whole subject. By doing this, the ministry revised the guidelines after there was a possibility of students dropping out in the grade increase examination held last year.
