BANKE, August 8: An unidentified armed gang brutally attacked ward member of Raptisonari rural municipality Tikaram Basnet with a sharp weapon.
A gang-of-five brandishing weapons barged into Basnet’s house at 8 pm on Monday and knifed him ruthlessly. Basnet has received a deep cut to his left leg in the attack.

Basnet, who is also the president of Khaskhushma Rural Municipality representatinv Nepali Congress, is undergoing treatment at Nepalgunj Medical College, Kohalpur.
His condition is out of danger, police said quoting doctors attending to Basnet.
Police have deployed a team in the incident site to nab the culprit as soon as they received information about it, said DSP Padam Oli, incharge of Area Police Office, Kushma.
