Armed Police, New Diamond win on first day

KATHMANDU, March 13: Host departmental team Armed Police Force and Shivam New Diamond Academy have started the fifth Open Women’s National Volleyball Tournament on Monday.

KATHMANDU, March 13: Host departmental team Armed Police Force and Shivam New Diamond Academy have started the fifth Open Women’s National Volleyball Tournament on Monday.



At the Nepal APF headquarters in Halchowk, Armed Police beat the other departmental team Nepal Police Club in straight sets of 3-0 to start the tournament with a win. Armed Police had left Nepal Police 25-21 in the first set, while it led Police 25-14 in the second set.

After winning both the sets, Armed Police played with high confidence and won the third set 25-18 to win the match. Armed Police’s Nebika Chaudhary was named the player-of-the-match. In the other match played on the same day, New Diamond saw off the departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club on straight sets of 3-0. New Diamond won the first set 25-17, the second set 25-12 and the third set 25-15. Pratibha Mali of the winning team was declared the player-of-the-match.  


New Diamond will now take on Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center in its second match on Wednesday. Tribhuvan Army will face Jawalakhel, while Armed Police will play against Dhorpatan Sports Club on Tuesday.
