KATHMANDU, Feb 3: The departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) club has secured the 14th Dhorpatan Women’s Double League Volleyball Tournament with a match in hand after defeating the fellow departmental side Tribhuvan Army Club on Saturday.

At the Dhorpatan Club’s Sports Ground in New Buspark, APF collected 39 points in 13 matches after defeating Army in a match where it lost the first set 22-25 but came back to win three straight sets to claim the trophy before the last round of league matches. APF won the remaining sets 25-7, 25-17, 25-21 in a dominant comeback.

APF is set to play against the third departmental team Nepal Police Club in the final match on Sunday. Police Club has 34 points. A victory over APF will add three points to the Police’s total which will not be enough to topple the APF as it will win the championship by a point.
