Army overcomes Province 3

In the first Group B match of the one-day cup hosted by Inaruwa municipality in association with Shanti Deep Nepal, Army’s Paudel and Sarki contributed unbeaten 80 and 71 runs respectively in the total of 288 runs. Skipper Binod Bhandari scored 48 runs after losing the toss and being invited to bat first by Province 3.


Province 3 could only make 170 runs before being all out in 36.2 overs. Ishan Pandey scored 75 runs but could not get support from other batsmen as Jitendra Singh Thakuri and skipper Sonu Tamang both scored 16 runs each in the failed chase. Aadil Khan was second highest scorer with 32 runs. Shahab Alam was chief destroyer-in-chief with the ball picking up four wickets in 5.2 overs conceding 14 runs. Similarly, Bikram Sob and Jitendra Mukhiya shared two wickets each. Rohit Kumar Paudel was adjudged man of the match.
