Army, Police to vie in title decider

KATHMANDU, Feb 18: The title decider of the Second Pathibhara National Open Men's Volleyball Tournament will be a a departmental derby after Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Police Club are tied with equal points in the round robin format tournament with the only remaining fixture of the tournament be played between the two clubs.

KATHMANDU, Feb 18: The title decider of the Second Pathibhara National Open Men's Volleyball Tournament will be a a departmental derby after Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Police Club are tied with equal points in the round robin format tournament with the only remaining fixture of the tournament be played between the two clubs. 



In the match being held in Taplejung, departmental teams were tied on equal nine points remaining unbeaten and they are scheduled to vie in the late match of the tournament on Saturday which will turn as the title decider.

In its penultimate match of the tournament, Army overcame departmental rival Armed Police Force (APF) in straight sets of 3-0. Army registered 26-24, 25-19, 25-17 wins over APF. 


Similarly in another match played on the same day, Police eased past Central Region in the straight sets of 25-9, 25-16, 25-13.


Meanwhile, Eastern Region and APF will vie in the third place playoff. APF has made three points from as many matches while Eastern Region has two points from equal number of matches. Central Region has failed to produce any win and hits the bottom of the table with just one point.
