Auditors should be alert to detect frauds: FinMin

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: Minister for Finance Yuba Raj Khatiwada on Sunday urged the auditors to take caution while sanctioning financial documents, which according to him, could help minimize the cases of financial frauds and corruptions.

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: Minister for Finance Yuba Raj Khatiwada on Sunday urged the auditors to take caution while sanctioning financial documents, which according to him, could help minimize the cases of financial frauds and corruptions.



Speaking at ‘National Conference on Professional Integrity for Combating Corruption & Fraud’ organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal, Khatiwada said increasing use of technology had expanded the scope for people involved in fraudulent activities.

According to Khatiwada, there is an increasing trend of registering fake companies and fake balance sheets. 


“Therefore, auditors should be alert and be aware of new financial instruments to check fraudulent cases,” he added.
