GORKHA, Nov 21: Collection of ballot boxes from the remote parts of the district is currently underway in Gorkha. The ballot boxes are being airlifted from the northern belt of the district to the district headquarters for counting.
Efforts are on to airlift the ballot boxes from Chum Numbri Rural Municipality, according to police. The office of Chief Returning Officer said the Election Commission (EC) was recommended to introduce the ballot boxes by helicopter from the northern belt of the district. The collection of ballot boxes is expected to be completed by Monday evening.

However, the ballot boxes from rural municipalities of Bhimsen Thapa, Shahid Lakhan and Arughat have been already brought to the district headquarters. The votes from constituency number 1 will be counted at the District Coordination Committee Office, while the vote from constituency number 2 will be counted at the EC’s office, Laxmi Bazaar. Ballot boxes from Constituency Number 2 have been already collected.
