Banking offense cases in Lalitpur surge by 83 percent

KATHMANDU, Aug 4: Cases relating to banking offenses in Lalitpur district have been gradually increasing. The number of  such cases has almost doubled in a year.

KATHMANDU, Aug 4: Cases relating to banking offenses in Lalitpur district have been gradually increasing. The number of  such cases has almost doubled in a year.



According to the District Police Range, Lalitpur, a total of 817 cases have been lodged in Lalitpur in the fiscal year 2023/24. In the previous fiscal year 2022/23, only 446 cases were registered.

Similarly, the number of cases has increased by 83 percent compared to the previous fiscal year. In the fiscal year 2021/22, a total of 186 cases were registered.


Furthermore, the cases relating to the banking offenses have significantly increased in the last five years throughout the country. However, the number of such cases registered in Kathmandu and Lalitpur has been rapidly rising.
