B'desh PM congratulates PM Oli

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, has congratulated K P Sharma Oli on his election as the 38th prime minister of Nepal.

KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, has congratulated K P Sharma Oli on his election as the 38th prime minister of Nepal.



In her congratulatory message on Thursday, Prime Minister Hasina said she looks forward for close cooperation with Prime Minister Oli for assuring peace and prosperity for the peoples of the region and to address various challenges the world confronts.

"lt is my strong aspiration that in the coming years our nations will continue to deepen their bilateral relations and that new initiatives of beneficial cooperation will expand contacts between our citizens," she said in the message. 


Hasina lauded Oli saying that the citizens' trust placed in him for the second time demonstrated the high evaluation of his efforts for their welfare. "I wish you strength, wisdom and success in this highly important and responsible position and on the path of fostering national unity and prosperity," she further said.


Hasina in the congratulatory message also noted that Bangladesh shared an excellent and cordial relationship with Nepal based on historic ties and multitude of commonalities. "We recall with deep gratitude the support extended by the people and the political leadership of Nepal to us during our War of Liberation in 1971," it added.
