Bhandari breaks her silence on Dashdunga mishap first time after becoming President

MORANG, March 30: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has broken silence on Dashdhunga accident saying that it is unfortunate not to get any facts revealed till date about the mishap that claimed lives of then General Secretary of the CPN-UML Madan Bhandari and Jeev Raj Ashrit, then in-charge of the party organization.

MORANG, March 30: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has broken silence on Dashdhunga accident saying that it is unfortunate not to get any facts revealed till date about the mishap that claimed lives of then General Secretary of the CPN-UML Madan Bhandari and Jeev Raj Ashrit, then in-charge of the party organization.



Inaugurating Madan Bhandari Museum constructed by Madan Bdhandari Memorial Academy in Urlabari Municipality-3 on Friday, President Bhandari said, “It feels good to have Madan Bhandari Museum constructed even though it is unfortunate not to get any facts revealed so far about Dashdunga accident.”

Meanwhile, she expressed hope that the state would take the initiative in promoting and protecting this museum.


She also stressed the need to make the surrounding areas visitors-friendly saying that the museum would help promote tourism.


Bhandari is the wife of late Madan Bhandari.


The unfortunate accident took place on May 16, 1993.
