KATHMANDU, Sept 14: The Dhurmus Suntali Foundation’s proposed construction of an international cricket stadium has gathered pace after Bharatpur Municipality approved the Rampur situated location on Thursday.

The foundation had identified the ground of the Agriculture and Forestry University at Rampur as a possible location for building the stadium in July. “Our project has moved a step further after the Bharatpur Municipality made the encouraging decision of allowing the ground for construction of the stadium,” the foundation stated in its official Facebook page.

However, the foundation has to wait for the university to get a final approval from the Prime Minister in the senate. “We appeal for the patience among all and hope to hear good news in a few days time,” the foundation added. The foundation said it is collaborating with the Bharatpur Municipality in Chitwan district to get land and construct the proposed ‘Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium’. The municipality will acquire the land on lease to build the stadium.
