The foundation said it is collaborating with Bharatpur Municipality in Chitwan district to get land to construct the proposed ‘Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium’.

Chitwan holds the promise of becoming the nation’s future capital, according to the foundation.

“We will officially start the construction of the cricket stadium once the Bharatpur Municipality provides us land. Once we have the land, we will set a deadline for completion of the stadium and move forward with construction works,’’ the statement read.

Meanwhile, Bharatpur Municipality has identified the ground of Agriculture and Forestry University at Rampur as a possible location for building the stadium.

The municipality will acquire the land on lease to build the stadium.
