KATHMANDU, Feb 19: The final rites of late Bhagarathi Bhatta, who was murdered after rape, are being performed today.
The 17-year old Bhatta from Dogadakedara Rural Municipality-7, Baitadi, was raped and murdered by her college colleague on February 3.

Earlier on Thursday, Dinesh Bhatta, a prime accused in the rape and murder case confessed to the crime during police interrogation. Sudurpaschim Province Police made public the prime accused amid a press conference, on Wednesday.
Dinesh is an XI grader of the same school where Bhatta was studying in Grade XII.
Following the arrest of Dinesh and his confession, the family of the victim has finally agreed to receive the dead body and perform her last rites today.
The family members of the victim received the dead body from the District Hospital, Baitadi, at 10AM this morning. Her last rites are being performed at 11AM.
