Birgunj metropolis collects Rs 360 million in revenue in the first 10 months of current FY

KATHMANDU, May 19: The Birgunj Metropolitan City has collected Rs 360 million in revenue in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year under 26 different headings. Birgunj is the only Metropolitan City in Madhesh Province.

KATHMANDU, May 19: The Birgunj Metropolitan City has collected Rs 360 million in revenue in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year under 26 different headings. Birgunj is the only Metropolitan City in Madhesh Province.



Chief of Revenue Section at the Metropolitan City, Manoj Kumar Karn, said Rs 140 million was collected from the property tax, Rs 50 million from house rent tax and Rs 22 million from business registration fees, among others.

Likewise, Rs 27 million was collected from government property tax and Rs 20 million from other service fees.


The revenue under the heading of housing registration is not likely to reach Rs 200 million this year though the fees under the same heading collected Rs 470 million last year, Karn added.
