BAITADI, July 5: A painstaking search for a 14-year-old boy who went missing 18 days ago is still continuing.



Sunil Chand of Dhanchuli area of Patan Municipality - 10 of the Baitadi district and studying in Grade 9 of Durgasthan Higher Secondary School is still missing.


Chand, who had left for school on the morning of July 17, has not come into contact with the family till date, his father Harka Bahadur Chand told the National News Agency (RSS).

"We have searched for him everywhere and at our relatives' places, but we have not found him," Chand said.


The grieving father said he came to know from hearsay that the boy has gone to India. "We are worried that he may have fallen into the hands of a broker," he shared. The family has already filed application at the District Police Office and District Administration Office, Baitadi.


The father has appealed to all to help find his son. The boy's maternal uncle, Dev Bahadur Chand, said they had also searched for him in Indian cities and are coordinating with child rescue organizations in India to find the boy.


The boy is of fair complexion with brownish hair and five feet tall. He was wearing half T-shirt, jeans pants and slippers at the time he went missing.


District Police Office, Baitadi's Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohan Prasad Pokharel said the search is being carried out to find the boy. The incidents of disappearance of children in Baitadi have been increasing in recent times.
