Bus, truck collide killing 1, injuring 19

CHITWAN, April 24: One person was killed and 19 others sustained injuries after a bus and truck collided early morning today at Syauli Bazaar along the Narayangadh – Muglin route. 



The deceased has been identified as Chandra Bahadur Timalsena, 44, from Dhiyal -9, Makwanpur. He was the assistant driver of the ill-fated bus. 



The bus (Na 6 Kha 1521) en route to Kathmandu from Itahari collided head on with a truck (Na 5 Kha 7528) heading towards Narayangadh from Kathmandu at 6 am in Syauli Bazaar of Ichhakamana rural municipality – 5. 



Among the injured, five are being treated at the Chitwan Medical College while the rest were rushed to College of Medical Sciences, Teaching Hospital Bharatpur.

The accident took place when the bus was overtaking a vehicle in front of it, according to district police office.
