JANAKPUR, June 26: While unveiling its budget for the upcoming fiscal year, Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City, the capital of Province 2, has introduced policies to develop the local unit into a cultural city.
While unveiling the budget for the upcoming fiscal year, Lal Kishor Sah, mayor of the sub-metropolis, stressed the need for banning meat and liquor in areas around the Ram-Janaki Temple in Janakpur, urging everyone to keep the area neat and clean. Besides that, the sub-metropolis has planned to uplift the living standard of farmers by encouraging floriculture in Ward 20.

Not just that, another program has been announced to build a Madhes-Mithila Artist Center and include the Mithila Art in school textbooks. Apart from that, Janaki Nawami will be celebrated as a local festival and the maroon color will be used widely at public places, government offices and business hubs will make the local unit look like a religious site.
Likewise, the community schools will be made technology-friendly. Mayor Sah further added that an exemplary martyr's park will be constructed within the upcoming fiscal year.
