KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Nepali Congress (NC) Central Member Jiwan Pariyar has announced to contest for the post of the party's Joint General Secretary in the upcoming 14th General Convention.
Sharma announces candidacy for post of General Secretary
Organizing a press conference on Tuesday, NC Central Member Pariyar announced to file his candidacy for the post from the Dalit category. As per the party's statute, the NC has made a provision to elect one Joint General Secretary of the party from each if the various categories including Khas, Aarya, Women, Tharu, Indigeneous nationalities, Dalit, Madhesi, Muslim and Backward region.
Pariyar is fielding his candidacy from the rival faction within the party. Elected as a member of the Constituent Assembly (CA), Pariyar has continuously remained the party's central member since then.
