KATHMANDU, July 16: China has decided to provide a grant of additional 1.6 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Nepal.



Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi called on newly-appointed Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Friday and announced an additional grant assistance of 1.6 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Nepal.

Ambassador Yanqi also conveyed that China will continue its support to Nepal to combat COVID-19 pandemic.


On his part, Prime Minister Deuba thanked the government of China for its help and continued support to Nepal. He also expressed his belief that China will keep supporting Nepal even in the days to come. China has provided COVID-19 vaccines to Nepal multiple times.
