KATHMANDU, May 9: A corruption case has been filed against 12 people including Mayor Suresh Sah Sonar, Deputy Mayor Roshan Khatun and the then chief administrative officer (CAO) Mitra Lal Dhakal of Jaleswar Municipality in Mahottari.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a corruption case against the mayor, deputy mayor, chairman of ward 1 Anil Kumar Jha, CAO, other employees and officials of the Consumer Committee at the Special Court on the charge of corruption by doing substandard work on the concretization of Jaleswar Municipality-1 Haat Bazar area.

CIAA has demanded a fine of Rs 584,637 citing that they overcharged the said amount for the work done.
Among the other employees involved in the corruption case are officer Dhirendra Jha, senior engineer Pawan Kumar Jha, engineer Rakesh Kumar Chaudhary and sub-engineer Dipesh Kumar Sah, executive member Sogara Khatun, Consumer Committee Chairman Rakesh Kumar Sah, Secretary Sikendra Chaudhary and Treasurer Santoshi Devi.
