Complaint lodged against vice-presidential candidate Yadav

KATHMANDU, March 12: A complaint has been filed against the vice-presidential candidate from Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav.



Claiming that Yadav's candidacy was against the constitution and law, a group of people including CPN-UML parliamentarian Mahesh Bartaula on Saturday registered the complaint against Yadav at the Office of the Election Officer at New Baneshwor.

"The Clause 16(5) of the President and Vice-President Election Act, 2074 has stipulated a provision that individuals belonging to different gender or community than that of the President-elect should file nomination for vice-president", the complaint stated.


Parliamentarian Bartaula said a woman candidate should be the vice-president of the country when the President was elected from men.
