KHOTANG, Sept 11: Diprung Chuichumma Rural Municipality on Sunday handed over computers worth Rs 5.5 million to seven model schools to initiate computer education at the school level.
Chief of the rural municipality, Bhupendra Rai, handed over 10 computers to each school at a function organized to mark the 39th National Education Day and the 52nd International Literacy Day.

Computers were provided to Mahendrodaya Secondary School of Yamkha, Mahendrodaya Secondary School of Dadagaun, Shanti Secondary School, Panchakaushi Basic School of Batase, Sarasawati Secondary School of Dadakgarka, Dhiplung Secondary School of Semma, and Krishna Secondary School.
Rai said the recipient schools were selected on the basis of their exam results, school environment and cleanliness, teachers' discipline, teacher-student ratio, number of students enrolled at the school, among others.
The recipients were finalized by a meeting of the District Education Committee, he informed. Along with the seventy computers provided to the schools, the rural municipality also provided a computer and a printer to each of the ward offices.
