Couple found murdered in separate rooms in Kavre residence

KATHMANDU, May 22: A couple has been killed in Mahadevtar of Mahabharat Rural Municipality-4, Kavre. Man Bahadur Bal, 60, and his wife Kekai Maya Bal, 50, of Mahadevtar were killed.

KATHMANDU, May 22: A couple has been killed in Mahadevtar of Mahabharat Rural Municipality-4, Kavre. Man Bahadur Bal, 60, and his wife Kekai Maya Bal, 50, of Mahadevtar were killed.



According to Rajkumar Shrestha, DSP and spokesperson for the District Police Office, Kavrepalanchowk, the body of the husband was found in the room where the shop was located, while the body of the wife was found in the kitchen. DSP Shrestha said that it looks like he was killed by a strike on his head with a heavy object. “According to the details of the incident, it seems that they were murdered. But nothing has been revealed as to who killed them and why," said DSP Shrestha.

According to DSP Shrestha, only two of them were living in the house. The body was found with the door open. A team from the District Police Office as well as police station Phoksingtar, area police office Devitar has started an investigation into the incident.


It is suspected that the killings may have occurred on Monday night. Concerns arose when Bal did not attend the Thakur puja on Tuesday afternoon. This prompted the locals to visit his house, where they discovered both individuals deceased, leading them to notify the police.
