CPN (Maoist Center) forms task force to make recommendations to address concerns over MCC

KATHMANDU, Jan 22: A Standing Committee meeting of CPN (Maoist Center) has formed a task force to suggest the party on some of the issues deemed controversial in the US-funded Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact agreement as well as holding all three-tier elections at once.

KATHMANDU, Jan 22: A Standing Committee meeting of CPN (Maoist Center) has formed a task force to suggest the party on some of the issues deemed controversial in the US-funded Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact agreement as well as holding all three-tier elections at once. 



The task force was formed after issues were raised over the MCC Compact Agreement by the former Standing Committee members, according to Krishna Bahadur Mahara, the party’s spokesperson. He said that the party will hold discussion based on the suggestions presented by the task force.

Meanwhile, a standing committee meeting of the party held at the party’s central office decided to hold discussion if it was feasible to hold all three-tier elections together.  The meeting also decided to give responsibility to the party Chairman Dahal to finalize the remaining organizational works until the threat of COVID-19 pandemic subsides.
